Bearbrook Dental Centre's dentist, Dr. Danic offers patients full or partial dentures and bridges as options for Ottawa patients with missing teeth.
Dentures Supporting Your Oral Health
Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth. They are custom-made from acrylic to fit over your gums.
Types of dentures available
We offer both full and partial dentures for patients with missing teeth.
Full Dentures | Full dentures replace all the teeth in the top and/or bottom section of your mouth. These can be combined with implants for a secure fit.
Partial Dentures | Partial dentures are used to replace one or more teeth, and can be made from a combination of metal and acrylic.
How do I know if I am a candidate for dentures?
Your dentist will let you know if you are a candidate for dentures, and which type of teeth replacement is best for you.Your dentist may also recommend bridges for filling the spaces left by missing teeth.
Bridging Gaps in Your Smile
When are bridges used?
Similar to crowns, bridges are also used as a restorative device. However, bridges are used for cases where a patient has missing teeth. Unlike implants, bridges adhere to adjacent teeth to provide support for the device.
Bridges are also cemented in, and unlike dentures, cannot be removed unless by a dentist.
What is the procedure like for bridges?
Your dentist will asses your smile and depending on your situation, will create a personalized treatment plan.
If you and your dentist agree to move forward with the bridges procedure, you will be then fitted for the device. Your dentist will take impressions of your smile, and send them to a dental lab to create the prosthetic.
From there, you can return to the dentist for another appointment to have your bridge placed into your mouth.
