Bearbrook Dental Centre offers both surgical and non-surgical teeth extractions, as well as extractions of wisdom teeth.
Your Teeth Are Important
At Bearbrook Dental Centre we know that your teeth are important. That is why Dr. Danic and Dr. Dao work with patients to come up with a customized treatment plan and only recommend teeth removals if necessary.
Our dentists offer both surgical and non-surgical extractions for patients.
Non-surgical Teeth Extractions | A non-surgical extraction is a simple extraction done by your dentist. Your dentist will first loosen your tooth from the socket and then remove it from your mouth.
Surgical Teeth Extractions | Surgical extractions are used for more complicated teeth extractions. An incision will be made in the gums so that the tooth may be removed.
What are some reasons I might need a tooth removed?
There are reasons that you may need a tooth removed which include:
- Needing to make more space for braces
- Baby teeth that need to be removed to make way for adult teeth
- Teeth that are crowding
- Teeth that are infected
What to expect during your tooth removal procedure
During your tooth removal procedure your dentist may take an x-ray of your mouth to make sure he or she has a full picture of your oral health situation. Your dentist will then administer a local anesthetic and perform the removal procedure.
After your appointment your dentist will provide you with instructions on how to care for the area. If there are special precautions you need to take, your dentist will let you know before you leave the office. Like any medical procedure, there are risks involved.
Please consult your dentist with any questions during your appointment.
Wisdom Teeth Removals
Your wisdom teeth may come in around the age of 20. They may need to be extracted for any of the following reasons:
- partially erupted wisdom teeth
- crowding other teeth,
- in the presence of gum infection,
- if there is tooth decay, and
- if there is evidence of cyst formation.
Visit our dentists if you are experiencing discomfort with your wisdom teeth to see if you are a candidate for a wisdom tooth extraction.
